A loan of $1,175 helped to buy bean seeds and natural fertilizers.

Rosa's story

Rosa, age 57, is a hard-working woman. She has lived with her husband, Luis, for 26 years. They have two children, Omar and Eder, whom they take care of in the house they bought 28 years ago.

Every day she walks long distances to arrive at the Auquispuqio and Colpa annexes where her farm lands are located. She grows alfalfa, corn, carrots, and potatoes. She enjoys being there. She has 18 years of experience doing this, and at each harvest she markets her crops in the city of Huancayo, where the wholesale traders of a well-known market buy food produced on the land Rosa cares for.

As she is a woman who is very committed to her work in the field, she also works as a laborer in other fields. She does this in her free time. This way she can see her plants and not neglect them.

She also raises animals like guinea pigs and donkeys. The former serves to feed her family and to sell their meat when she has an urgent financial need. She uses the latter for transport.

She belongs to the Sicaya 2000 communal bank, and this is her eighteenth loan with MFP. She is happy that during this time she managed to get a lot of income. This is all thanks to the financial support given to her. She pledges to make her payments.

She likes to work with her communal bank as all the members are supportive and hardworking people.

Rosa will use the loan to buy bean seeds and natural fertilizers to spread among her crops.
