A loan of $1,350 helped to buy natural fertilizers and alfalfa seeds.

Isabel's story

Isabel, age 46, is a cheerful woman. She lives together with her husband Ambrosio and their 5 children, who are all students. Together they live in a house that they bought 12 years ago. For more than 15 years, Isabel has dedicated herself to agricultural work on her fields where she grows alfalfa. This serves as feed for her animals as well as for sale. She carries out her work thanks to the support of her husband and children. Every day, she sells her crops to the various cities of the country; "my main buyers are the businesspeople of the various markets of the city where I live," she affirms. She comments that in this month, her business was going very well for her, she obtained good earnings, and for this reason she wants to continue planting. She reports that she now has crops of peas, beans, corn and other vegetables which she will soon harvest and send to the country's capital, since there she has larger buyers. She belongs to the "Sicaya 2000” communal bank, and this is loan number 17 with MFP. She feels happy because in this time she was able to obtain good earnings, all thanks to the economic support provided to her. For this reason she promises to make her payments on schedule. She also likes working with her communal bank, whose members are hard-working people with a sense of solidarity. Isabel will invest the funds in buying natural fertilizers to improve her alfalfa crops, in addition to seeds of the same crop to increase her production.
