A loan of $3,000 helped a member to restock her business with food items, and buy a TV.

Mistubishi Group's story

Elizabeth, who is in her mid 30s, is married and has two boys who are in school. She has been running Mama Lishe (restaurant) selling different kinds of food for two years now. She works from 6am to 4pm daily and she is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to purchase a business fridge, wheat and maize flour, cooking oil, a sack of rice, some kilos of sugar and salt, and cover household expenses. Elizabeth has paid back her loans successfully. She hopes for a loan to restock her business with food items and buy a home TV. Her dream is to one day be able to buy a plot and build her own nice house.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Mistubishi" which totals 12 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
