Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Lolita's story

Lolita, a 59-year-old married mother of three children, lives in Talibon, Bohol, Philippines where she has been engaged in a fish-vending business for more than 20 years now. Her husband works as a fisherman.

Lolita is requesting a loan worth 6000 PHP to buy fishing nets, lead weights and fuel for the boat. With these, her husband will be able to enhance his daily catch, thus giving her more fish to sell in the market.

Lolita hopes to make her business a success and experience the fullness of life together with her family.
