A loan of $950 helped to replant coffee and clear weeds.

Minerva's story

Minerva is a housewife and a coffee grower. Along with her husband, Moisés, she’s grown coffee for many years. They also have a coffee nursery at home where they produce the plants to sell to other growers and also to use on their own land. Her husband and her children are the ones who mostly do the field work and she takes care of the nursery although during harvest season she also works in the fields cutting coffee.

Minerva and Moisés had a previous harvest of ten tons and need a loan for the next crop because they are going to replant part of their land and do the weed clearing and prepare the soil. With this plant renewal they will wait three years in order to increase crop yield to thirteen tons. Minerva relates that she enjoys cooking very much and would like to repair her kitchen once the harvest season is over.
