A loan of $4,225 helped a member to buy more fruit to resell.

Mshikamano Group's story

Maulid, who is in his early 20s, is married with a baby. He has been a fruit vendor for five years now. He is doing great with his family. He works from 5am to 10pm daily and he is able to make a good monthly profit.

He requests a 5th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to purchase more fruits, a plot on which he expects to build his own house, a TV, a radio, a sabufa (kind of music system), and paid household expenses. He has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy more fruit to resell. His dream is to one day be able to build his own nice house on the purchased plot.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Mshikamano" which totals 12 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Maulid, Rose, Rashid, Furaha, Soud, Ahmed, Mwanaharusi, Simon, Loyce, Ashura, Daneil, Maroa
