Samina's Group
In this Group: Samina, Zareena, Mewish, Elishba, Riffat , Shabana, Nazia, Shaiza
Samina is a 32-year-old hard-working and independent woman. She lives in Pakistan with her husband, two sons, and four daughters. One son is a police officer, and her husband is a taxi driver. His income is insufficient to meet the family's needs, so Samina is trying to help him fulfill their needs by stitching clothes. She is a tailor, and wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine. She will buy a new taxi for her son, if she gets a good amount of profit in the future.

Samina is a member of an eight-person group, and has requested a loan from KIVA partner, BRAC Pakistan. She plans to purchase a sewing machine to sew more dresses, and to satisfy the needs of her clients more professionally. She hopes, with the help of the loan, to reach her desired net income and be able to save for their future. She prays for her children's better future.

Her biggest dream in life is to go for an Umrah (pilgrimage). She is very much thankful to Kiva.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
