A loan of $500 helped to buy supplies.

Virgen's story

The Tamarindos community bank meets once every two weeks in the beautiful city of Portoviejo, the capital of Manabí. It is known as the Valley City. It has a hot climate and is home to beautiful women. The local cuisine is wide ranging.

Virgen is 52 years old, separated, and has six children from her relationship. Four of her children are adults. The other two are 17 and 15 years old and attending school. Three of her children still live with her.

Virgen is a very hard-working woman who has always enjoyed working. Through her efforts she has managed to provide for her children. She has a restaurant in her home where she prepares delicious breakfasts and lunches. Every day she varies the menu so that she can provide her customers with what they most want. For this reason, her number of customers increases every day. Virgen works every day and her children help her in the business. She has owned her restaurant for more than 15 years and her business provides her with what she needs to keep making progress.

Virgen will use this loan to buy supplies for preparing her food. She has been a member of her community bank since the beginning and she likes it because of the help that she has always received through loans.

Virgen's dream is to make further progress in her business.
