A loan of $900 helped to buy banana plants.

Manuel's story

Manuel is a 43-year-old gentleman who is married and lives in Sololá. He has six children, three daughters and three sons. Three of his children are in school and the older ones work with him.

Manuel is a hardworking gentleman who has plenty of drive to succeed. He currently grows bananas in a place near his home. Bananas are one of the fruits that are among the most widely grown in the region. Manuel started this business five years ago so that he could take advantage of the land he acquired near his home. This business enables him to generate a better income so that he can support his wife and six children who help him with his work.

Manuel is requesting a loan of 7,000 GTQ so that he can cultivate more banana plants on his land and later harvest the fruit to sell. As a result, he will have more income in the future. He plans to provide the education for his remaining children so that they can finish their current levels and higher.
