A loan of $525 helped to buy a weeder for his hot chili pepper crops.

Jose Ramon's story

José Ramón, 39, is married and has four children; he lives with his family in the town of Tela, Atlántida. José works in agriculture and a year ago decided to start growing hot chili peppers because they are in high demand. He used to sell seafood. He sells his chili peppers in the local and the national market.

He’s had several cycles of ODEF support and he’s now asking for a 10,000 Lempira loan to buy a weeder for his hot chili pepper crops. With this tool he will save on labor costs and time and will provide better crop care. His goal is to buy his own farmland because the land he currently farms is leased.
