Sor's Group's story

A farmer originally from Kror Kor district, Sor is 33 years old and has two dependent children. For daily decent food for her children, she grows paddy rice and vegetables. She has had experience in this business for 12 years and is able to earn about 11,000 KHR per day. Her key challenge is the low production where the flood occurs. For this cycle, Sor is a second-time borrower with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. The original loan, which she has paid back completely, has helped her to sustain her business gradually and better support her household. Therefore, she was able to manage to buy a decent motorbike for commuting and shipping her vegetables. Now, she wants to expand her business. Hence, she formed a group of three female members to seek a microloan. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to buy fertilizer for her paddy field and vegetable garden. She hopes to double her income and therefore attain good progress on her living conditions.
