A loan of $5,350 helped a member to increase the inventory of her drugstore by buying medicine needed by her customers.

Bon Semeur Baco Group's story

Bon Semeur is a Community Bank made up of seven micro entrepreneurs whose chairwoman is Charlotte. These members are united for the same goal: to grow their businesses through loans received from Kiva through IMF HOPE RDC.

Charlotte operates a drugstore in the northeastern area of Lubumbashi. She is 41 years old, married and the mother of three children between 14 and 22 years old. She started her business in 1993 with the beginning capital of US $50. With hard work and good management, and by providing good customer service, Charlotte’s business has prospered and has permanent customers to keep it up. It generates US $150 of profit per week.

Charlotte is a trustworthy client of the MFI HOPE RDC, having 12 times obtained and correctly repaid loans. She is planning with the new loan to expand her business by buying more medicine needed by her customers. Her ambition is to open another drugstore.
