A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy dried fish, groundnut paste and broiler chicken for resale.

Gpf Halwar Group's story

GPF HALWAR is a group which consists of five women who are involved in retail business. For their first loan, their are requesting 500,000 CFA francs, in order to boost their activity.

The leader of the group, Aissata, raises poultry on a small scale (she only owns 50 birds). She just started this activity a year ago. Thanks to the earnings generated through this business, she has been able to cover some of the expenses of her household.

This loan will help her to diversify her products and services since she will also buy dried fish and groundnut paste.

If she can obtain the support of financial institutions such as the UIMCEC, Aissata plans to expand her activity even further, as she would like to open a shop in which she will sell ready-to-wear clothing and cosmetics.
