A loan of $375 helped a member to purchase more rice for a restaurant.

Korn Kheav Group's story

Mrs. Korn K. is the leader of a four-woman group in Tie Pram Village in Kampong Chhnang Province. She owns a small restaurant in the local village and has asked for a loan to purchase more rice to cook for her customers. Mrs. Korn K. is a 56-year-old widow, mother of a child who is employed in a garment factory. She has previously obtained a loan from AMK to buy the ingredients to make Khmer cakes to sell in the village.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
