A loan of $1,000 helped a member to buy spare parts for her husband’s motorcycle repair business.

Sreyna's Group's story

Sreyna is 22 years old and a farmer who resides in a rural area of the Bakan district, Pursat province, Cambodia. She has one dependent son who is too young for school. To support the family, she has been farming rice on 1.5 hectare of farmland while her husband complements the family’s income by working as a motorcycle repairer in their local area. She is able to earn about 15,000 KHR per day and manages to save about 5,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.

Sreyna’s group consists of five female members who just joined VisionFund (Kiva's partner) this cycle. She is leading her group to apply for a loan. As the leader, she will use her portion to buy spare parts for her husband’s motorcycle repair business. She hopes this loan will help her husband to have sufficient spare parts for his repair business and earn more income for the family.
