Mahougo Group's story

The group MAHOUGO comprises five persons who reside in the same district and who belong to the same tontine. The group's representative, Colette Agossi, the one in the photo with her hand raised, is 54 years old and married to a mechanic named Jean. She has five children, all in school.

Colette Agossi had dropped out of primary school. To cope with her various expenses, she sells cloth via the distribution system. She has been in this business for about thirty years. She gets her supplies from a city in Benin.

With the aim of boosting her business, Colette Agossi has the ambition to expand her inventory, and this will enable her to respond better to the demands of her customers. To do this, she is requesting, along with the other members of the group MAHOUGO, an initial loan from ALIDé.
