A loan of $575 helped pay for the maintenance of her rental apartment.

Irene's story

This is Irene, 63, a resident of Taguig City, Philippines. She is a mother to her children. Irene, together with her children, manages their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Irene operates a room rental business. It is rented in a monthly basis. She also has a junk shop as a source of income. She earns a minimum of 10,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) in sales every month.

To help her continue the operations of her business, Irene is requesting a PHP 23,000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan for the repair and maintenance of her room for rent. She expects a boost in her business income as she improves her business.

Irene hopes to be able to have her renovation soon. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
