Yuneidys's story

Yuneidys is 25 years old and works selling underwear, clothing and footwear through catalogs or specialized guides. At the same time she sells make up, personal hygiene products and is also a manicurist. She does all this to generate earnings that benefit her home and support her husband. Her business idea was born when she studied the trade of manicures in the Servicio Nacional de Apredizaje SENA (National Learning Service) and created the business through this. With her business she has been able to gain recognition in her community and many of her clients are her customers for the merchandise that she sells and has supplied through loans.

She is currently requesting the Kiva loan, her first financing with Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy products including footwear, clothing and nail equipment. With this investment she will improve her business through the increases she expects in sales due to the display with her tools and the timely response she will give to her customers.

She makes her purchases in cash through specialized guides or catalogs. Her main customers are her clients and friends. Yuneidys' greatest goal is to have a locale where she can attend to her customers and to have her own house. She currently lives with her mother and father in law, who have supported her.
