A loan of $1,000 helped to buy one box of spaghetti, one box of couscous, one 10-liter bottle of alcohol, and one carton of milk.

Assiba's story

Assiba is 50 years old and mother of six children, two of whom are still in school. Her eldest child is 35 years old, and her youngest child is 18 years old. She has been selling liquor and other various items for years. She stocks up at one of the markets in Benin to replace the products that she sells. She sought and obtained a loan in order to strengthen her sales and satisfy the needs of her ever-growing customer base. The loan will allow her to increase her profit and help pay for her children's education.
