A loan of $600 helped to buy wooden sticks and mud to make bricks.

Giovana's story

Giovana is 29 years old and is a hard-working woman. She lives with her husband Elmer and her son Enso who she has been caring for in a rented house for 2 years.

Over 10 years ago she started making bricks together with her siblings, with whom she united to start producing thousands of bricks with the expenses being covered by each of the members a they could. She works every day of the week except for Wednesdays and Sundays which are holidays where she lives.

Giovana also started selling coal which is going well for her. "Unlike with bricks, with coal you can earn good money, but it's not always in demand, that's why I focus on making bricks" she comments.

For this reason she wants to increase the amount of bricks she produces to gain a better income.

She is a member of the group “next generation youth” and this is her second loan with MFP. She is grateful for the support she receives since it has helped her to increase her business capital. For this reason she promises to make her repayments punctually. Giovana will use the money to buy wooden sticks and mud to make bricks.
