A loan of $600 helped to buy essential items for her grocery shop.

Carmen's story

Carmen is 31 years old and is a simple woman. She lives with her son Reyner who she cares for in the house she inherited from her parents 20 years ago. Carmen is a woman of many skills and she likes to work and keep herself busy.

Together with their family they make bricks, a business in which she started from a very young age.   In parallel with this business 5 years ago she opened a grocery store where she sells essential items. It has gone well for her since there are no well-equipped shops in the town where she lives.  During this time she has been able to supply her shop with a wide range of food products, but she wants to continue improving since she still does not have meat and vegetables to meet the needs of her customers.

She belongs to the group “next generation youth” and this is her second loan with MFP. She is grateful for the support she receives since it has helped her to increase her business capital. For this reason she promises to be punctual in making her repayments. She will use the money to buy essential items for her grocery shop.
