Flor's story

Flor, 36, is a hardworking woman. She lives with her husband, Jaime, and their two children she cares for in a house she rented four years ago. She has two years’ experience selling food. Her work starts at the wee hours of the morning. She goes to the central market at dawn to buy various vegetables and potatoes from wholesalers to then resell in food street markets that take place in the city on Wednesdays and Sundays. Once she buys the food items she arranges them and starts to sell them to residents by the kilo thus earning higher profits. She does very well in her business because she earns good profits that help her cover some expenses but because she’s a hardworking woman on the other days of the week she works as a field hand in various crops earning a daily wage.

This is her fifth MFP loan and she promises to be punctual with her payments because throughout all these years the money has helped her make her business dynamic thus too her income. Also, she enjoys belonging to her association where all the people are so supportive. Flor will use the money to buy potatoes and vegetables in quantity to resell.
