A loan of $650 helped to buy merchandise such as groceries, snacks and soft drinks.

Ariel's story

Ariel is 48 and is a construction technician by trade. Five years ago he decided to open a store since in his area there were no businesses of this type. It was a good, profitable idea, because his sales have consistently been trending upwards. He recently acquired a cooler that holds 350 bottles, which has enabled him to increase his offerings of soft drinks, beer, other beverages and ice.

He lives with his wife and young daughter. He divides his time between running his store and managing his construction contracts. When he has to be absent from the store, his wife manages it in his place.

His dream is to continue growing his business and to put the finishing touches on his home. His financial records show a profit margin of 20%, and he depletes his inventory every 25 days.

Currently he is applying for his first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will use the loan proceeds to buy merchandise such as groceries, snacks and soft drinks in order to stock his store. This will also allow him to obtain wholesale discounts, which will guarantee the success of this loan.
