A loan of $1,175 helped to purchase rice, sugar, oil, and scaffolding.

Silvia Ynes's story

Silvia is a member of the “Mujeres Galácticas” Communal Bank located in the Coronal Portillo district in the Ucayali department. She is 43 years old. She is single, and has five children. Only two of the children are in her care, however.

She sells staple items and her stand is well-stocked with basic essentials so that she is able to serve the customers that come to the market every day.
With her new loan of S/. 3,000.00 nuevos soles, she will purchase three bags of rice, two bags of sugar, two boxes of oil, and also scaffolding for the second stand that she is setting up and will be opening soon.

Her business is going well and she works to support her children. They are still in school and she is their sole guardian. She thanks Manuela for giving her the opportunity to grow as a person that wants to move up in life for the good of her entire family.
