A loan of $250 helped to buy three sacks of fertilizer.

José Rául's story

José, 52, is a single father of two children. He’s worked in agriculture since his youth; his parents taught him the occupation. He grows vegetables like watermelon and corn. He buys his farm supplies in a city that’s 8 kilometers from home; he travels by bus.

The loan he’s requesting from Fundación Campo is to buy three sacks of fertilizer for 7,000 square meters of corn and 7,000 square meters of watermelon. He very much needs the supplies because his crops need fertilizing now and he does not have money to buy them. With the investment he hopes to produce a larger harvest so that his income will be better and it can help with household expenses. Income he earns this year will allow him to plant more next year insuring his children’s and his family’s food.
