A loan of $325 helped to buy vegetables and fruits to sell in her store.

Florence's story

Florence lives in the Kongowea area of Coast Province in Kenya. She is married and has four children, three of whom are school-going. She owns a green grocer, a business she has been operating for three years. Florence also farms and at times sells cassavas, maize, etc.

Florence learned about Milango through friends who invited her to the group. She joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are bad debts and a lack of enough funds to run the business. She believes these challenges can be partly alleviated by this loan.

Florence is applying for a loan of 27,050 KES to buy vegetables and fruits in wholesale. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to pay the school fees for her children and improve the living standards of her family. Her dream is to see her business expand.
