A loan of $600 helped to buy ingredients for her desserts and also to buy all types of beverages.

Lucy's story

Lucy, 29, is a good, kind, hardworking woman. She lives with Atilio, 44, and has three children: Víctor, 22, Lucy, 18 and the quite spoiled, four-year-old, Alex. She lives with her family in her own house and works hard to provide each one of them with a better quality of life.

Lucy’s work consists in selling beverages. She has a supplier who delivers her orders to her house. She made an agreement with this firm which gives her wholesale prices and delivers beverages ranging from soft-drinks to alcoholic beverages which logically she only sells to adults. She also has very skilled hands so she applies her skills to selling desserts. She’s been in business four years and she works alone. She enjoys her work very much and feels good being able to divide her time between her household chores, her children and her business. She’s very happy to earn such good income because it allows her to think about expanding her business and opening a soda fountain; she’s convinced that she’ll do it later on.

This is her second MFP loan and she’s happy about the financial support she’s being offered because she’ll feel more confident about advancing with her work. On the other hand, she commits to continue making her installment payments as scheduled. She’s very happy to belong to her communal bank because all the members are responsible and supportive.

She will use the requested 1,500 soles to buy ingredients and supplies to continue making her desserts and will buy beverages of various types, brands and presentations because she wants to increase stock.
