Vicente is 55 years old and single. He is a hard-working man with a great desire to get ahead with his family. He has eight children; five of them are married. He currently lives with two of his sons, ages 18 and 20, who are students, and his 15 year old daughter. He lives in Sololá.

He grows vegetables like potatoes, onions, green beans, and corn. He later harvests them and sells them where he lives. He has been doing this work since he was 18 years old. He says that he inherited this work from his father, and that he grew up with farm work.

He continues doing this because it is the source of greater financial income for his family. For the same reason he wants to continue to grow larger quantities of vegetables in order to get better income.

He is requesting a loan for 3,000 quetzales to buy more seeds and farming supplies for his potato crop. This is the vegetable that he plants during this season.

He dreams in the future of continuing to provide his children with the best education.
