A loan of $700 helped to buy fish and pay for technical maintenance for her vehicle.

Julia's story

Julia is 56 years old and a very persevering, sociable, happy and hard working woman. She lives with her partner Pedro who makes a living in commerce and is the father of her six children. They live in the company of two of their children: Percy is 30 years old and is married with two children; and Pedro is 25 years old. They are all together in their own house that they build thanks to the result of the hard work.

Julia has a family business that she runs with her partner. She works in administrating the business which consists of buying and selling fish wholesale. She sells to other cities where she offers them a higher price and obtains greater earnings. She also has two motorcycle taxis that she bought with her earnings and rents to her neighbors. She began this work more than five years ago due to her husband's initiative, who learned this trade in another city. Sales are only made on request by clients who have their stalls in the main markets of the city or in other cities.

Fortunately it is going very well for her and her business continues to positively expand. She considers her business profitable for the good earnings that she has, which are greater than her previous business selling vegetables in the market. She likes her work because of the income that she receives and because it helps her to cover her household expenses and see her capital grow from the demand and increased price of this product due to scarcity.

Because of this she has plans to continue and expand her business and in the future open up a grocery store in her house so that she can be in her house and rest a little without missing out on work.

This is her eighth loan with MFP and she is thankful to those that have given her the opportunity to access this loan that will afford her security to continue working. She also is committed once again to fulfill her loan installments punctually since she does not wish to leave her group with a negative image. Her group is characterized for its punctuality and responsibility in payments. The amount that she has requested of 1800 nuevo soles will be invested to buy fresh fish. She will also do maintenance on one of her motorcycle taxis so that they can continue working with it.
