A loan of $2,300 helped to renew her work area.

Maliha's story

Maliha is a 46-year-old Iraqi woman. She is married and a mother of one child. With limited career options due to cultural restrictions and domestic constraints, Maliha is one of the many Iraqi women who is working from home, using her sewing skills to generate some income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

Maliha has twelve years of experience with her small, home-based business activity. Using her old sewing machine, she makes very nice custom ordered dresses and other fabric household items. She would like to improve her work environment and work experience by renewing her work area.

To be able to pay for the work, she took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of 2,300 USD.
