Nodar is from a small village of Tskaltubo district. He is 55 years old and lives with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and 9-year-old grandson. His grandson goes to the local school. Nodar’s son has chronic health problems and gets a relevant pension from the local government. His daughter-in-law works at the local supermarket as a saleslady to earn a small monthly income. Nodar buys bread and provides local families with it. Additionally, he sows vegetables in the open ground and sells different kinds of greens during the year and cucumbers, seasonally. The family runs a small dairy farm as well and has 2 milk cows, whose milk is used for cheese products. They sell their dairy production locally. Nodar works hard to make some savings and expand his agricultural business.
He requested a loan to purchase onion seeds and fertilizers. The loan will help him to provide financially for his needs. He will sow onions, and after fertilization and properly done seasonal work, Nodar will be able to get a good harvest. He confronts challenges such as pest infestations and diseases and changes in the weather, so that he can provide quality products for his customers. This will increase his income and Nodar will reinvest in his agricultural business to expand and make it more profitable. All members of the family will improve the living conditions.
