A loan of $3,550 helped a member to increase his stock of vitenge (fabric), shanga (beads) and sarongs for his business.

Wang'ae Group's story

Shamira, who is in his early 30s, is married with one child. He has been selling vitenge (fabric), shanga (beads) and sarongs for two years now. He works from 8am to 5pm daily and he is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be his third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy more vitenge (fabric), sarongs and shanga (beads), paid household expenses and he has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a loan to increase his stock for his business to resell. His dream is to one day be able to build his own nice house.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Wang'ae" which totals 15 members, who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
