She gets her supplies in a market in Benin.

In order to ensure customer satisfaction and increase her working capital, Cathérine Léontine has requested her first loan along with the other members of the Aloyinou group. This loan will allow them to better meet their customers’ requests, as well as to make more profits.

ALOYINOU est un groupe de seize personnes, dont les membres fréquentent la même église. La représentante du groupe, Cathérine Léontine (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 52 ans et est mariée à un pasteur du nom de Isidore. Le couple a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Cathérine Léontine et son mari vivent ensemble avec leurs enfants et assurent ensemble les différentes charges de la maison. Il y a quelques années que Cathérine Léontine exerce comme activité, la vente des tissus par le système de distribution. Cathérine Léontine exerce cette activité passionnément, ce qui lui permet de subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants. Cathérine Léontine s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et en vue d’augmenter son fonds de roulement, Cathérine Léontine sollicite un premier crédit avec les autres membres du groupe ALOYINOU. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
