A loan of $1,175 helped to buy sacks of manure and fertilizers.

Felix's story

Félix, who is 59 years old, lives alone in his own house, which he bought through his own hard work and built from wood. Félix has cultivated coffee for 32 years and he is always trying to improve the quality of his product. During the harvest and weeding seasons, he needs help from day laborers, with the goal of getting a better yield on his hard work.

He sells his product at collection centers that are located an hour and a half from his town. He starts work in the very early hours of the morning and works until the afternoon. He is always looking out for the insects that affect the fruit of his plants. Félix will use the money from the loan to buy fertilizers and manure to help maintain his plants. This is his 9th loan, and he pledges to continue repaying according to his repayment schedule. He also feels that he will be able to go far with his communal bank because everyone is committed to the good management of the group. With the PEN 3,000 (Peruvian Nuevos Soles), he will buy manure and fertilizers.
