A loan of $600 helped to buy agricultural land.

Rosendo's story

Rosendo is 57 years old. He is a widower who lives in his own home with his only daughter, Avelina, who is 29 years old. Rosendo makes his living with the cultivation and production of cocoa and coffee. He has been doing this on his parcel of land for 23 years. During the harvest, he gets help from laborers, which enables him to harvest his crops quickly. His crops are important to him, since they are the reason he was able to get his apartment. When the time comes to sell his crops, he goes to the central gathering place in his community, where his customers pay him a good price. His plans for the future are to enlarge his parcel of land and improve his financial stability. To accomplish this, he will buy more land. This is loan number 5. He is confident that he will continue to complete his payments by their respective dates. He enjoys working with the communal bank because of the moral and financial support he receives. With the 1,500 nuevos soles (Peruvian monetary units), together with his earnings, he will buy a piece of land to plant coffee.
