A loan of $775 helped to buy bags of organic fertilizer.

Maximo's story

Máximo, 48, is a hard-working man. He is married to Albina, 48, and they live in their own home with their three beloved children, who are the main motive for all their efforts. Máximo works growing coffee, cacao, and pineapples. Every day, very early in the morning, he works with his crop, since he knows the money he gets for his products will depend heavily on the quality of his harvest.

His harvests are sold in his district, since that is where people offer him the best prices. His favorite part of his job is harvesting his lands, since that is when he feels that the months of work have paid off. He has been doing this job for 15 years and thinks that the hardest part is taking the products from the harvest to the place where they are dried. In the future, he hopes to buy more land to increase his production.

This is his seventh loan. He feels that the money from the loan will help him in the progress of his work. In his communal bank, he is well-liked by the rest of the members, because he is very supportive of them. With the 2,000 new soles, he will buy sacks of organic fertilizer for the good production of his crops.
