A loan of $750 helped a member to purchase clothing for her business.

Abeer/ Haziaz Group's story

The four members of the Abeer/Haziaz group are mainly married women. All of them live a working class neighborhood in Sana`a, Yemen. Their community is in a rural area surrounded by the fields with the clothes markets. The whole group requested a loan for 160,000 YER. Sadiah is 49 years old and the coordinator of her group. She has operated a business selling fabrics and perfumes for one year. She will use her loan to purchase some clothing to sell to women. Saidiah`s most important challenges are to work hard to gain extra income and to better her business structure. She is receiving a loan of 40,000 YER from AMB and, because her loan repayments have all been made punctually, she has been able to expand her business with the reinvestment she makes from each loan.
