Sajida's Group
In this Group: Sajida, Kaneeza, Zohra, Shameem
Sajida is 50 years old and a hardworking and independent woman. She lives in Punjab Pakistan with her husband, two sons, and two daughters. Her two daughters and one son are studying. Her husband is an auto mechanic, but his income is too low to meet the basic expenses of his family.

So since 2006 Sajida, by stitching clothes, has helped her husband to meet the household's and children's education expenses. And now she is interested in continuing to grow her business by purchasing a new tailoring machine and tailoring materials like thread and clothing. For that, as a member of a four-person lending group, she has requested a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan.

She is very hopeful that the loan amount will bring out a positive change in their life. Note: In the picture Sajida is holding a passbook in her hand.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
