Shukuri's story

Shukuri is from a small village of Martvili district. He is 61 years old and lives with his wife and three children (16, 19 and 21 years old). Two of them are students and the young son goes to the local school. Shukuri runs animal husbandry business - he has 2 milk cows, a calf, and a pig. His wife milks the cows and produces cheese products. He also has a plot of land where nuts, maize and persimmons are grown. Shukuri produces dried persimmons. The family sells their agricultural production at the local open market. In addition, he owns bee-hives with bee colonies and sells honey from the local supermarkets. Shukuri works hard to make some savings and improve the living conditions of the family. He requested a loan to purchase bee-hives with bee colonies. He will get more honey and plans to sell it in nearby villages. This will increase the income of the family. With the increased profit, he will be able to reinvest in the family agricultural business to expand it and make it more profitable. Taking into account the above mentioned the living conditions of the family will improve.
