God Bless -Ii Group's story

In the photo are members of the “God Bless II” group. They are small-scale businesswomen based in Koidu, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan these entrepreneurs are accessing from SMT/Kiva lenders. With this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profit and consequently improve on their standard of living.

The leader of this group is Saffief. Saffief is age 31; she was born in Bo, a city in southern Sierra Leone. But she is currently residing in Koidu, together with her husband and four children. Her husband is a businessman and three of her children are attending primary school.

For five years now, Saffief has been selling cloth: gara lappers (locally dyed cloth), Bamako cloth (cloth dyed in Mali), etc. With this loan, Saffief will buy gara and Bamako cloths at wholesale to add to her business.
