Sauda's story

Sauda is married with three children, two of whom are in school. She lives in Kampala, Uganda, and also cares for her late sister's children. For the past three years, Sauda has sold charcoal from her home. She works seven days a week and also sells tap water to earn additional income. Sauda lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and running water. Her main business challenges are transportation and thieves and her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding her family. Sauda is requesting an 800,000 UGX loan to more sacks of charcoal. Her business goals are to become a wholesaler and to buy a delivery van to improve her transportation.
