A loan helped a member buy corn meal, manioc starch, cheese, anis, and other ingredients to make 'chipa,' a popular Paraguayan bread.

Unidas Group's story

The 'Unidas' Committee began working with the Fundacion Paraguaya in February 2010. Presently, the group is composed of 10 married women from the same zone who are dedicated to distinct activities that generate good incomes. The members of the committee are very united, responsible, and committed to the group. They demonstrate having a great desire to work and get ahead, as part of the committee and individually.

Aparicia is a member of the group. She sells 'chipa,' a typical Paraguayan bread readily consumed at any time of the day. She can count on a very good clientele and, thanks to her hard work, she provides her family with what they need.

Aparicia is requesting a loan to purchase corn meal, manioc starch, cheese, anis, and the remainder of the ingredients needed to prepare 'chipas.'
