A loan of $1,250 helped to buy art for resale.

Verónica Elizabeth's story

The “Para el Futuro De la Mujer” meets every two weeks in the town of Montecristi. This area is very well known in the province and in the country for its rich traditional culture and a great variety of art, made in the traditional way, can be found here.

Verónica lives here. She’s 29 years old, single, and lives with her parents. She’s a very prepared woman and succeeded in completing her university studies in business with great effort. She puts what she’s learned into practice with her business.

She buys and sells decorations and ceramics. She has a shop within her home where she sells all types of arts and crafts. She works daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm. She mostly sells table centerpieces and nick-nacks for the home. She’s been doing this for seven years and things have gone very well for her and she was able to complete her studies through this work. She buys her products from artists in the zone, as these are the best in the province.

She will use the money from this loan to buy more artwork of all types and models to stock her business. She has been with the communal bank for six years and she enjoys it because the loans help her with her business and those of her fellow members.

Her dream is to have a business in another city.
