A loan of $575 helped to buy merchandise (rice, sugar and canned food, as well as products such as decorations, tablecloths and glasses etc.).

Virginia Alejandrina's story

Virginia is a hard-working woman. She is 50 years old and lives with her husband in the city of Chincha. Together they have four children whom they love very much and for whom they have worked very hard to raise them as good people. Her house is located in the city of Chinca, a city that is known for having a warm and welcoming climate. It is also the cradle of Peruvian sports glory, and its population has a gift for preparing local cuisine, which come out delicious. When she has free time, Virginia likes to go out for a walk with her family and on some occasions, she loves to enjoy with them one of their favorite dishes – the delicious Rice with Duck. Due to their scarce resources, she was only able to study up to the third year of secondary school, but she would have liked to study to become a nurse. Day to day, Virginia works in her business selling groceries. She works at it for about 10 hours a day and can serve up to 30 customers daily. She believes that her business is going well because she is very friendly and because of the variety of products she offers her clientele. Virginia is grateful for the big help that Kiva lenders have provided her, since thanks to the help provided, she will be able to buy merchandise for her business such as rice, sugar, and canned food as well as products such as decorations, tablecloths and glasses. In this way, she will be able to have a greater variety of products and will be able to improve her income, which will allow her to continue fighting everyday to be able to achieve her biggest dream “to have a house of her own”.
