A loan of $500 helped to buy fertilizer, manure and to pay labor costs.

José Mauricio's story

José, 42, is married and has four children. He’s been doing agricultural work since he was little because he was the oldest brother and had to help his father with the work. At the age of 19 he got married and continued working alongside his father but when his children were born he started to work for himself.

In order to buy his farm supplies, he has to travel to the city which is 15 kilometers from home and then he has to pay transport costs to bring them home. From home he takes them by cart to the place where he has his crops which is a kilometer from his house.

The loan he’s asking Fundación Campo for is to buy fertilizer and manure and to pay labor costs for his corn crop. He hopes the investment will improve corn production and his standard of living and that his children are able to attend university.
