Saida's story

Saida is a 23-year-old married woman with one daughter. She is IDP.

To earn a living, Saida breeds cattle for meat sales. She also has two cows for milking purposes. She generates income by selling cattle, fresh yogurt, and milk. Her husband helps her to run the business. Saida usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months, and then re-sells them for a profit from her house. Her monthly income is approximately 800 AZN, and she notes that this business is her family's only source of income.

Meat is in very high demand in Azerbaijan, because people use it in everyday dishes like pilau and dolma. Saida would like to capitalize on such demand by applying for a loan in the amount of 1,000 AZN to buy two cattle and animal feed.
