A loan of $1,100 helped to buy salon tools, dyes, permnents, cosmetics, etc.

Narcisa Angela's story

The Nuevo Amanecer communal bank meets in Bajo de Montecristi in th eprovince of Manabí. It is a small place surrounded by a lot of vegetation. Its residents work in different areas, such as being merchants and working in factories.

Narcisa lives there. She is 39 years old. She is married and has two children. One is grown and the other is 16 and goes to school. They both live with her, and her husband is a driver.

She learned about beauty in an institute in the city of Manta some years ago. To take advantage of her knowledge of beauty and personal appearance, she does all kinds of salon work in her house and at her customers' houses if they ask her. She colors hair, cuts hair, does manicures, and more. She also sells Avon and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women's accesories). She sells these products at the same time that she does her other work. She works every day at whatever time her customers need her services. She has done this for 6 years and it is going well for her.

She is going to use this loan to buy certain salon tools as well as dyes, permanents, cosmetics and more. She has been in the communal bank for 4 years and she likes it because they give her loans.

Her dream is to have a salon with everything.
