A loan of $2,950 helped a member to buy merchandise.

Chomchaj Group's story

Paulina, 32, is married and has three children two of which are in school; she never had the opportunity to attend school. She sells vegetables. She buys them at wholesale and resells them to other customers. She started this business when she got married because she needed extra income to support her family. To date she has 12 years’ experience and her husband, who does the same kind of work, helps her out.

She organized a group to request a loan that will be used to buy more merchandise to sell and be able to stock up to meet customer demand. She hopes in future to have large capital of her own.

The other group members are merchants, raise domestic animals and are craftswomen.
