Paulina is single, and has two children who are already living on their own. She lives in her parents' home, occupying just one room. The house is located in the Obispo Bosque area of the city of La Paz.

Currently she has a small business, working more than ten hours a day selling shoes, and making trips to buy and sell them. With what she earns, she must cover her expenses for food, and pay for basic services. She also has a vehicle that she has working as a taxi, and she receives daily rent.

She needs the loan to purchase an engine for her vehicle, as this is one of her sources of income.

Paulina's dream is to improve her income, and buy herself a house so that can take in her children and also improve her quality of life. This is the third time she has applied for a loan with IMPRO, and the first time with Kiva.

Paulina es soltera y tiene dos hijos los cuales ya son independientes, vive en casa de sus padres ocupando solo una habitación, la casa esta ubicada en la zona Obispo Bosque de la ciudad de La Paz.
Actualmente se dedica al comercio trabajando por más de diez horas al día vendiendo zapatos realizando viajes para la compra y venta de los mismos ya que con lo que gana debe cubrir sus gastos de alimentación y pago de servicios básicos, también cuenta con un vehículo el cual lo hace trabajar como taxi y le entregan rentas diarias.
El crédito lo requiere para la compra de motor de su vehículo ya que es una de sus fuentes de ingreso.
El sueño de Paulina, es mejorar sus ingresos y comprarse una casa para poder acoger a sus hijos y también mejorar su calidad de vida.
Es la tercera vez que solicita crédito junto a IMPRO y la primera vez con KIVA.

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
