Zawadi's story

Zawadi lives in Malindi area of Coast province, Kenya. She is married and has five children, four of whom are in school. She owns a grocery store which she has been operating for three years. In this business, Zawadi sells greens, flour, cooking oil etc.
Zawadi learnt about Milango through a friend, with the aim of accessing credit to improve the business operations. The challenges she is facing are price fluctuation and inflation, purchasing stock and seasonal weather.
Zawadi is applying for a loan of 21,100 Kenya shillings to buy wholesale vegetables and tomatoes. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to expand the business. Her plans for the future are to expand to wholesale grocery and to become a supplier.
